On the Precipice of Deluge
Ever since I first saw his colorful rendition of a cityscape seemingly topping a monolith of color, Marc Allante has been among my favorite artists. As a tribute to one of his works, I decided to try to remix his Precipice into Deluge using what I had around my New York apartment on a sunny day in late September.
I sketched out the couple first with pencil, and then dotted the paint against a vertical canvas, allowing gravity to do the rest. To complete the work, I filled in the drawing with a black felt pen.
The final work is an admittedly less chaotic, more ordered tribute to the magnificent work that Marc Allante created.
